Try, Tri-Butterfly.jpg

Try, Tri-Butterfly (Belgium) by Jonah Steeman

Try, Tri-Butterfly is a meditation on the frame and framework of creation, transformation and introspection. Who is the architect that creates in his image; is the intertwined dead ringer growth or decay? Does creation and transformation require sacrifice? Is a dance a vanity or a meditation?

Move the Way you Want.jpg

Move the Way you Want (United States) by Jonathan Monaghan

Move the Way you Want offers a dream-like commentary on technology's effect on the environment, as a mythical horse traverses a beachscape littered with detritus of consumer electronics. Intertwining ancient mythology, the work underscores the urgency of reevaluating our relationship with nature and addressing climate concerns.

Spring of a Dancer.jpg

Spring of a Dancer (Italy) by Damiano Fina

In his short film, Spring of a Dancer, Damiano Fina invites the audience to embark on a poetic and philosophical journey in which dance becomes the language of the invisible. Today, dancing in the face of wars, the perpetuation of violence and the questioning of acquired freedoms is an act of defiance. Damiano Fina reminds us that “even concrete can be conquered by flowers.” The central question of Damiano Fina’s film Spring of a Dancer proposes a search for meaning with respect to dance. The short film offers no easy answers, but immerses us in the sacred and transformative power of dance, seeking a taste for questioning rather than answering. Spring of a Dancer is not a film to watch, but a ritual to experience. At the heart of the short film resides a reflection that connects the questions humanity has been asking since the moment it turned its gaze to the stars and the eternal motions of the heavens.

OMENS.jpg

Omens (Belgium) by Maya Wuytack

In a rough, deserted no man's land, seven bodies are washed ashore. The desolate landscape reveals glimpses of an unpredictable era. When they gain consciousness they find themselves between a visible and invisible world. The poetic journey unfolds between what seems to be a dream and their dreaming bodies. In their entangled destinies they seek shelter with each other and find refuge in the caves of the rocky coast. The rough landscape reflects their existential barrenness. Exposed to the forces of nature, surrender is their only defense. In the eye of the storm, their listening bodies breathe silence. OMENS is a mystical quest for self-discovery, belonging and connection.
